Today, City Symphony Malmö is up for grabs at The Pirate Bay. Please download and seed! So far, we've distributed three copies of the movie, and that in only one (1) hour!

City Symphony Malmö, a collaborative documentary film, was remixed and broadcast live on the 4th of May 2009. VJs (Erik Sandelin & Andreas Kurtsson) and musicians/composers (Erik Mikael Karlsson & Fredrik Norrgren) remixed and performed live music to videos from all over Malmö.

PLEASE NOTE THAT DOWNLOADING AND SHARING THIS MOVIE IS BY NO MEANS ILLEGAL! I.E, IT'S PERFECTLY LEGAL!

The minute I posted the text below something went wrong. The main camera stopped working and some of us panicked (me and Christopher) and some stayed calm (Andreas and Erik). I can't understand how some people have the ability to stay on top of things in times of chaos, like yesterday when all went black an hour before the audience arrived, but I'm glad that some people do and I'm grateful for it! Thanks Andreas!

Success? Failure? To be honest I don't know. I was too busy mixing the incoming signals that I couldn't pay attention to what was really going on, but occasionally I found myself smiling, thinking that "this is the result we were hoping for!", and that made it all worth it.

So how will we go on from here? First of all, there's gonna be a DVD with the movie and some remixes, and a short presentation movie of the project. Then... any suggestions? Should we continue using the community? Continue uploading movies from our beloved city?

Finally, we'd like to say thank you from us at K3 and Doc Lounge to musicians Erik Mikael Karlsson & Fredrik Norrgren and VJs Erik Sandelin & Andreas Kurtsson. This could never have happened without you!

Day of preparations is finally over

Thank you all for making the first day of City Symphony preps such a pleasure! Norrgren brought a couple of hundred kilos of gear but, unfortunately, not the red keyboard. We had all been looking forward to it. It all started to make sense when we hooked up the video mixer and started overlaying the live mixed video with the camera that's supposed to capture the audience, the musicians, the VJs and, yes... the screen where it all happens. It's live, live, live. I can't believe how live this is, and we all really enjoyed the outcome of it! Tomorrow will be great!

The king's red trousers

I've managed to get the techie guy up at dawn to rig the screen and make sure the projector works. Now just waiting for the musicians and the VJs. And having coffee. And, just heard that one of the musicians is bringing half his recording studio and I wonder how it'll all fit on this tiny stage. Maybe not that tiny, but we're supposed to have a band here as well. Got another DVD from one of the contributors with tons of clips but i'm not too sure the VJ guys are too interested in bringing in new material at this stage. Just have to ask them. If they show up that is. I'm not bitter, just tired. And a bit worried that everything will be a huge failure.

And apparently, the king has red trousers. Or at least HAD red trousers when he was in Helsinki. That's why we need a red synth. I don't get it.

För att göra ett litet test så provade vi att göra en sökning på "Malmö" på YouTube och redigerade sedan ihop en liten film av andras filmer om Malmö. Detta är resultatet. Kanske inte så bra men tillsammans ska vi göra det bättre!
